Mondays are sports day

It happens, it’s sports day and we are half way to school and then we reallise dylan has his sports uniform with his black school shoes on. This is the second time that has happened this year. He just get’s on with it and says “anyway my sports shoes are too small” and just strolls of into the school grounds with a smile.

Proud mum and yummy curry

Went to school this morning and stayed for assembly because Dylan was getting an award. The award was for good participation in class discussions. That’s my boy, give him a chance to talk and he will talk!.

Because Isabelle has CAL at 8.20 I had about 1/2 an hour to wait. While I waited this lady Tamara comes to me and says “your dylans mum aren’t you?” and I say “yes”. “ I am so thankful for your Dylan, he has been helping sebastian settle in because he is new to the school and he is sooo nice”. Even after assembly was over she thanked me again. Her son is 1/2 indonesian and half aussie as well. I guess they do look similar, except Dylan is a chubbier version of sebastian :-). I am thankful that Dylan could be of help to Sebastian.

Had a kids birthday party to go to today, while I was there a lady was talking about curry paste and making cooking easy etc. Which is definately down my alley. She mentioned getting curry paste that is all mixed up already!. You just have to add meat apparently. Even some curry shops where you get those fancy curries gets the mixes from this place.

So to help my food budget and still eat well, I am definately checking these out and going to give it a go. I have always wanted to make my own butter chicken but recipes require so much ingredients.

This is the place I need to get them from http://rajfoods.com.au/ and curries here I come. Yum Yum

Ramblings

I got an e-mail today which said “Final Target 70% of clothing summer sale” and I am struggling to keep myself on this chair to complete my studies.

I have a ultrasound this afternoon (no baby), so I can’t eat or drink at all until 1pm and I am hungry and thirsty.

I am enjoying listening to Darlene Zschech on you tube.

On Tuesday, Ethan bit some babies at pre-school.  I spoke to his teacher today and she said that it was the littler kids. In particular, a little boy who just moved from the babies room as he just turned 2.

The thing is, this “little boy” is older than my Ethan!. Ethan is not even 2 yet.  Apparently some blood was drawn, I better stay away from his parents.

Ethan has been clingy lately and cried for the last 2 weeks when I have left him at pre-school. But today he did not cry, he looked at me and I thought it was coming but it didn’t. If there is hope on the crying, I am sure there is hope that he does not bite today.

Lachlan was meant to bring a photo of him and his pet today for news at pre-school. But I sent him of with 2 zhu zhu motorised pets which make funny noises. I hope the teacher does not mind. Even more, I hope Lachlan can remember that they are guinea pigs. I should read notes that are stuck on walls better.

I bought extra clothes lines to dry clothes on  the balcony because walking to my clothes line in the backyard feels like a bush walk. Though, I could think of it as exercise but I have bought the clothes lines now and I can’t let them just sit there can I? Also, the washing turn around is much faster and I save on energy by not using the dryer.

I have noted a whole months of my spending and I definitely need to improve in this area. I borrowed “Eating well on a budget for dummies” from the library. It gave me (I am not a dummy, well I don’t think I am) some ideas and suggestions. It did not work last night when I went to the shops because I still impulse bought. I can only do better from now on :-).

Dylan keeps getting awards, stickers, stamps from his teachers and all his support teachers. He is getting an award at assembly tomorrow. He is so bright that he keeps doing things behind my back to Isabelle and then says it  is an accident. I am onto that little boy.. because one day he will be a big boy. His charm does not work on his mum (sometimes it does) but not always.

Marty seems to enjoy the later hours of the night  morning being awake. He and his computer seem to have a very special relationship. I am truly blessed to have someone who works hard for us all.

I sure know how to ramble, better get back to my studies.

How’s my studies going? - Yesterday morning I was going to give it all up.  I had to positive talk myself that I can do it. I have printed my first assessments so I hope to get those in by the end of next week.

Catching up with old friends

Last Thursday I was invited to my old bosses house in Chatswood by a colleague that I used to work with.

I was one of the first to have a baby out of the bunch so lost contact as life got too busy. I kind of blame myself for not making for of an effort keeping in touch with people. I am so glad to be able to catch up with them and hope to stay in touch more often.

On Thursdays I have no kids from the morning until the evening so I was not time constrained because chatswood is a long way. 2 hours just in travelling, so I rocked up at her place just before midday and as usual food is not in short supply.

Fruit platter, coffee and home made banana cake. We chatted about so  many things and it was so nice. Her toddler was asleep and I tell you I can’t even explain how pleasant and relaxing it was  to just have a few adults to talk to with no interruptions. We all have food backgrounds in our studies so we chatted alot about food, babies and our future plans.

My boss made a wonderful lunch which we all helped prepared.  It was so lovely that I thought I would write it down so I can make it again one day :-)

Will let you know how I go.

Ethan singing happy birthday

…. she is now 8

She is lovely, our Isabelle. I could not be more proud of this girl and I am truly thankful that God gave me this one princess to love and be with.

Oh boy, have we had some rough times. But right now, this girl is growing up with characteristics which I am so in love with. She is so caring, loving, friendly and hard working.

She said she did not need presents cause she doesn’t “need” anything. But what’s a birthday without presents?

She and her brothers tackled a packet cupcake mix with pink icing. We added some marshmellow flowers.

A flower press to dry flowers, books, muffin gift holders, craft and a warm winter jumper was pressies from us.

Clarinet

Isabelle had the choice of which instrument she would like to do in Year 3 and had brought a note home at the end of last year to indicate our preferences.

I lost the note, which is not uncommon for me to do. So we never handed a note in.

So what did she come home with last week? A clarinet. So far, she is enjoying it. It’s a bit of a novelty at the moment, cleaning the spit out and so on. I am not sure how long that will last for, let’s just wait and see. I hope she learns how to play it at school, cause I sure don’t know how to teach her or correct her. At least, a piano I know a little more about than a clarinet!.
