Ethans first day at pre-school
Last year I was tossing in my head whether I should said my baby to pre-school. I said to myself that I was not going to send my kids to pre-school until they were 3. Well, I was wrong!
Days before his first day I was trying to explain to him that he was going to go to pre-school. The day before I showed him his bag, bottle, lunch box and hat. I don’t think that he got it fully. He did put his backpack on and was happy to wear his hat and hold his drink bottle in the morning of his first day. So perhaps he did understand, I just don’t know.
At the moment Ethan just copies what I say. So I would say “you are going to pre-school today with Lachlan and you will play” and he would say “paaay…. aacchan”.
Days leading up his first day I was full of emotions. Ok, weeks before. I was still wondering whether it was the right thing to do. But, as I grow older and try to become more wiser. Decisions are decisions and I made this decision to send him. So I keep with what I have chosen rather than changing my mind all the time.
Just about to get into the car to go to pre-school
Driving to pre-school
Off he goes, I guess his been dropping Lachlan off for the past year so he knows where to go.
We were so focused on Ethan, the director had to help Lachlan put his things away. But I did tell Lachlan I was going to help Ethan first and then will take him to his room and help him. But anyway, when Ethan saw his lunch box he wanted it and started to make a fuss. So I sneaked a grape and he was happy. Daddy was with us too, so it was extra special.
A whole bucket of water and sand, he was straight into it all.
By the way I did not cry, not at all. I am very surprised.
The teachers said that he did great. He slept for 2 hours, fell asleep by his teachers just laying him on his bed and putting his sheet on. Ate all his food and smeared yoghurt everywhere (which is normal), he loves his yoghurt and only he can spoon it into his mouth to eat. The teacher said that he was into all the play activities. From the doll house, then to the puzzles, then to the kitchen. I guess he is just trying to do everything at once. He did painting. They changed his nappies regularly, so no nappy rash.
I just have to say I love his teachers as they work hard and are so dedicated.
I have to start my business studies now but my brain just does not want to switch on. I won’t be too hard on myself and give myself some time to rest.
ps – I have plans to get my hair done on one of these “child free'” days ;-)
